Meco 5030 Electric Grill and Combination Water Smoker allows you to smoke meats without the need of tending the coals hourly. Ideal for smoking fish, chicken and other meats, this Meco smoker gives you a flavorful finish with its 1,650-watt heating element that distributes heat evenly from top to bottom.
This Meco electric smoker provides longer cook time, optimal control and you need lesser monitoring than you would with traditional charcoal smokers. The coils boil water that eventually produces steam and burns wood chips to create smoke that penetrate and add flavor to the meats while they are being cooked.
Designed with a removable thermostat control having low, medium and high settings, it smokes just about any food from thin sockeye’s strips to thick briskets of beef. The Meco 5030 electric smoker can be powered by plugging it into standard household outlet and can be immediately converted into portable electric grill. With two 15.5-inch nickel-plated cooking grids, you can cook with this smoker at two different levels.
To give you enough space for cooking about 50 pounds of meat simultaneously, it has 351 square inches of cooking surface. Checking water levels and adding more water can never be easier with its sliding doors which give you easy access.
There’s no need to remove the cover in adding water and wood for minimal loss of heat. This electric smoker has a porcelain-glazed pan that holds 5.5 quarts of water to let you smoke up to five hours so you won’t have any problem in extended smoking operations.

Meco 5030 Electric Smoker Reviews
There are more positive reviews than negative ones for Meco 5030 Electric Smoker from its Amazon online reviewers. The construction of the smoker is pretty sturdy. This is one of the few electric smokers that have a double door so you can add more wood as needed.
Also, don’t worry if you stack the pieces and there are slight gaps. It will still keep the right temperature. Cleanup of the smoker takes about 10 minutes, which isn’t too bad. It is well-made, very easy to use and very easy to clean up.
The Meco 5030 came with some hickory chunks to get you started. Great flavor, simple to assemble which allows an hour with a screw driver and a pliers ready, easy to use, no replacing charcoal, the water container is 5.5 quarts which is enough for 5 hours of smoking, doors to add additional wood or water as needed, the bullet shape is attractive on the patio, it has a thermostat and a temperature gauge, you can add wood and water without removing the cover or meat and heat loss is minimal.
Few of the users experienced inconvenience with this Meco electric grill and water smoker though. There are some gaps where the lid sits on the top of the unit so some smoke is lost. The instructions are for the charcoal version and not the electric one. It tends to run a bit hot once heated. Cleaning the bottom bowl requires loosening the electric element to remove the pan although cleaning this is not necessary each time you use it.
It will not heat up enough to cook anything unless you plan to cook it over the course of three to four days. Because the heating element it is so cheap and the fit of the rest of the smoker is loose, it will not hold even enough heat to generate smoke. Heat regulation comes from a single unit which looks like it was ripped off an electric skillet and it regulates as poorly.
Having read all the reviews for Meco 5030 Electric Grill and Combination Water Smoker, we consider this unit is good for the price. While taking into consideration the design flaws that few users noticed, we think that the positive reviews are enough to make the readers know that this smoker does a wonderful job.
